The Police Department approves this event with the understanding that all participants must remain on the city
sidewalks and obey all rules of the road at intersections. Please Contact the Police Department’s Day Watch Command
State at (319) 356-5276 between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM as soon as possible to discuss what level of Police assistance will

organization. The Police Department reserves the right to determine the number of officers required for this
event. Emergency vehicle access must be allowed at all times. Sidewalks must remain open for use by others not
associated with this event. Participants must not congregate to block an intersection or obstruct access to buildings.

Adam,
Ask for insurance on this. I don’t anticipate it will be a problem.
Thanks

Police traffic control is requested for the Park Road crossing. Normal statement to be courteous to others using the trail
system.
Applicant should contact the University of Iowa for use of trails south of Park Road, and to ensure the trails south of Park
Road are not affected by Hancher demolition/construction.
John
In the not-too-distant future, this area (which is popular for race routes), will be affected by Park Road Bridge
construction and Hancher construction – Adam just something to keep in mind when you are contacted by these groups.

This application is ok with Parks. One note, placing some type of crossing guards/ personnel to decrease the possibility
of an accident at the start finish for persons crossing from registration/ stage to the trail may be wise.
