Adam:
This looks good for Public Works, however they should check with the UI to see if there is a Boat House event that
morning, such as a crew race.
Thanks,
Rick

Please review and comment-
I spoke to the gentleman about the crossing at Dubuque—indicated that would be a challenging crossing.

PD doesn’t have any issues with the event as planned, and would reiterate that riders should be courteous to other
users of the trail system, stay to the right of the trail, and observe traffic signals / traffic laws at trail / roadway crossings.

My concern is the section in Peninsula park. There are a lot of dog owners that access the park from the Coralville side
and walk into the park. I can envision conflicts between dogs and bicycles. I would definitely post as John suggests to
let people know.

Ahh – my fault – I clicked on the link, but not the attachment. This is Jazz Fest day, and 4 Fest in Coralville. Should not
be a conflict with this route, but will limit (I would think) Police assistance if any is contemplated.

I like the use of the trail system for this event.
The application does not note the date or time of the event?
Riders should be courteous to other users of the trail system, stay to the right of the trail, and observe traffic signals /
traffic laws at trail / roadway crossings.
Recommend posting notices along the trail (at Waterworks Park, Peninsula Park, UI Rec Fields west of Mormon Trek) at
least in Iowa City at least 48 hours in advance to give notice to trail users of the event.
Applicant should be reminded to contact other jurisdictions, including Johnson County, North Liberty, Coralville and UI.
