Diversion Study
February 2015
Why Conduct the Study?
•The Taft Speedway Study, completed in Year
2012 discovered issues with drainage from north
of Idyllwild.
•To evaluate the existing drainage system and
see if deficiencies exist, where they are and the
extent of the problem.
Project Purpose
•Determine impact of runoff draining through the
Idyllwild area.
•Review the history of drainage problems.
•Determine extent of drainage issues and
problems.
Project Goals
•Identify drainage deficiencies in the existing
storm drainage system.
•Identify conveyance improvements that will
provide stormwater bypass during high flow
periods.
•Maintain low flow conveyance to the existing
ponds for pond management.
