City of Iowa City
City of Iowa City – Creekside Park Master Plan Concept A •Playground is divided into two seperate areas. This allows for individual components, such as swings, or a small 2-5 age group structure to be placed in a seperate use zone from a 5-12 age group structure.
•The community garden is shown as raised beds on top of the existing concrete pad for a more universally accessible garden space.
•The 8-stall parking in this concept utilizies the HMGP acquired property. The layout provides two entrances/exits, off 7th Ave. Ct and 6th Ave. Located on HMGP acquired property provides an opportunity to demonstrate the use of permeable pavement.
•This concept provides a fairly informal option for creek access, with the use of large stones to stabilize the bank and allow for access down to the water's edge. Concept B •Playground area is shown in one larger single zone.
•This concept allows for a more phased approach.
•This concept shows the community garden as inground planting plots close to the parking.
•This concept places a stormwater treatment area on the HMGP acquired property to caputre and treat stormwater prior to entering the creek.
•This concept provides a more formal option for creek access, with a small seating area and a larger area showing access down to the water's edge, also using large stones.
•The parking is shown as a dead-end 6-stall parking lot located off of 7th Ave. Ct.
