(photo: College Street, east of 7th Ave.) Speed humps are NOT speed bumps The locations above are approximate. • In determining locations for speed humps, we consider separation between humps, distance from intersections and driveways, and locations of stormwater drains. • To be effective speed humps should be separated by a distance no less than 300 feet and no more than 500 feet. This encour- ages drivers to adopt a consistent speed. • Speed humps do not interfere with on-street parking, turning movements, or access to driveways.
