AIC Memo to HCDC 7.14.2020.docx
Good Morning Erika and Brianna,
Please accept the attached correspondence submitted on behalf of the Agency Impact Coalition.
Adam Robinson, AIC Co-Chair, will attend the HCDC meeting on Thursday as will several other
members. As I mentioned to you both last week, I am not likely to be able to participate as my
connectivity is hit or miss from this location.
Thank you for the opportunity to discuss this possible approach for FY22.

Re: FY22 Legacy Aid to Agencies Process
We are writing with the request to please suspend the FY22 Legacy Aid to Agencies application
requirement and that funding to Legacy Agencies (otherwise referred to as the Agency Impact
Coalition) in FY22 be protected and maintained at FY21 levels with the understanding that
actual awards may need to vary based on the availability of funds. As such, in the event there is
a percentage increase or decrease over FY21 funding, then the same percentage change would be
consistently applied to each agency FY22 award amount.
The COVID-19 Pandemic has impacted every sector of our community and the very health,
safety, and well-being of every community member. It has amplified vulnerabilities, gaps, and
inequities that preceded it increasing local needs and challenges. More is being asked of our
local safety net and we are being called upon to rapidly respond. Suspension of the FY22
application requirement would not only be a kindness but a demonstration of good faith and
confidence in our professionalism, expertise, and continued good works. Agencies will continue
to fulfill on-going reporting requirements regarding programmatic activity and impact.
However, as a result of the current landscape, some agencies may seek to modify the use of
FY22 funds from FY21 activities.
This is part of a broader appeal to suspend the FY22 Joint Funding application requirement with
similar requests being submitted to the City of Coralville, Johnson County (as a matter of
protocol only as this is a bi-year for the County), and the United Way of Johnson and
Washington Counties. Agencies will continue to meet with HCDC members to continue to build
upon the progress made last year and to encourage a more participatory, equitable and informed
process as we move forward together.
Thank you for your serious consideration of this request.
