Hi Brianna,
I apologize for not responding sooner but our staff needed more time to assemble this information
than I had anticipated.
In response to the HCDC request for an indication of the number of people, including employers,
residing or located in Iowa City who have been part of a wage theft investigation by CWJ we would
like to state the following:
the data presented here mainly encompasses the time period of 2019 to 2020;
we conducted waste theft investigations involving 45 workers and 30 employers;
our investigation indicated that workers were owed $31,394.14;
we recovered $27,528.71 in stolen wages or approximately 88% of the wages owed to these
workers;
wages were recovered for 34 workers, or 76% of the wage theft cases we investigated.
Please let me know if the Commission wished to receive additional information.

Hi Charlie,
Thanks for attending last night. You can send the information HCDC requested to me once it is
available and I will send it out for you. I believe the only thing they requested from CFWJ as
follow up was some kind of indicator of the amount of people served in Iowa City.
Thank you,
Brianna Thul
