Summary of Minutes
September 21, 2021
Iowa City City Council special formal meeting, 4:00 p.m. held at The Center -
Assembly Room, 28 S. Linn Street. Mayor Teague presiding. Council members present:
Bergus, Mims, Salih, Taylor, Teague, Thomas, Weiner. Absent: None. Staff members
present: Fruin, Jones, Goers, Fruehling. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were
affirmative and unanimous.
Moved by Taylor, seconded by Salih, to evaluate the professional competency of
individuals whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered
when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individuals'
reputations and those individuals requested a closed session. (City Manager and City
Clerk). The Mayor declared the motion carried and adjourned into executive session
4:03 p.m.
Council returned to open session 5:10 p.m.
Moved by Salih, seconded by Taylor, to adjourn special meeting 5:11 p.m.
