DeLoach reported the master plan report continues to be in the final stages. The
capital improvement plan (CIP) for fiscal years 22-26 has been approved. The
Senior Center now has 6.1 million dollars over the next 5 years. About half of that
is earmarked for exterior projects and the remainder for interior improvements.
COMMISSION DISCUSSION:
McConville asked when OPN would be presenting the building master plan report
to the Commission. DeLoach thought it would occur in January.
McConville reported the Senior Center commission report to the Johnson County
Board of Supervisors has been rescheduled for December 1st at 9 AM.
McConville and DeLoach will be attending.
McConville reapplied to be the Johnson County representative on the
commission. Staff reported she was the only applicant. It is the responsibility of
the city council appointed commission members to appoint the Johnson County
representative.
Motion: To appoint Angela McConville as the Johnson County
representative on the Senior Center Commission for a term of three years.
Motion carried on a vote of 5/0. Goldsmith/ Beckman
McConville reported the chair, vice chair, and secretary seats for the next
calendar year are normally appointed in December. The current executive
committee, comprised of McConville, Goldsmith, and Vogel will be the
nominating committee. McConville inquired if anyone was interested in being
chair. Beckman stated she would be comfortable being vice chair. Vaughn and
Vogel stated they were not interested.
Dorfman and Goldsmith’s terms end in December. Douglas Korty has been
appointed by the City Council for one of these seats. This leaves one full term
and one partial term open.
Beckman would like to add parking to the agenda for next month. She stated she
had a VNA client who could not find parking and it was difficult for him to walk
from the location where he did find parking. McConville asked if the Commission
would be interested in a presentation from Johnson County’s mobility
coordinator, Kelly Schneider. She stated she would be helpful in a situation like
Beckman discussed. The Commission agreed it would be helpful to hear from
her. McConville said she would reach out to her to see if she would be available
for the December meeting.
Motion: To Adjourn.
