Hi Brianna—
Recently listened to the audio of thee meeting when Kathleen filled in for me. I know you are not a decider for this
grant, but there was one women who asked Kathleen a lot of questions. Kathleen did a great job but there were 2 items
that she left hanging and I do think it enters in to the importance of this project. I am only sending this your way because
I don’t know who else to reach out to.
1. Community Family Resources (CFR, formerly Prelude) does not offer Sober House/Recovery Housing in Johnson
County. I have met with the CEO and it is on the list of things to do, but hoping our house would fill a need
partially and they would use us to refer women to. Here is the documentation from there website
www.cfrhelps.org.
Recovery Housing
Recovery is an on-going process. Because we know that no two people are alike in their needs and goals, treatme nt
is customized to each person's individual situation
The journey of healing continues long after completing an initial treatment experience. It is crucial that this healing be
supported and nurtured so the person may continue to thrive and grow as they t ake each new step toward recovery.
Nurture and support are not always easy to find. The disease of addiction takes many things from those touched by it
and this sometimes means feeling like you're starting over.
CFR's Recovery Housing options for adult men and women offer support to those who find themselves in need of
longer term care. Clients who show dedication to the goal of long term recovery are considered for this opportunity.
Specialty housing options are available in both Fort Dodge and Des Moines.
The Recovery House is not just transitional housing but an extension of the therapeutic community. Residents
continue to experience individualized treatment planning as well as group and individual sessions with clinical staff
they have come to know and trust.
2.The second recurring question was why only 6 months salary for the House Manager? Where will the other 6
months come from?
a.The ask from this grant will allow us the hire our manager 6-8 weeks prior to opening for orientation
and training, including Peer Recovery Coach classes.

b.The other 4 months of salary will be paid from the grant until we reach 100% occupancy at which time
our budget will kick in and the rent the women pay will provide house manager salary and/or other
raised capital will be utilized to pay her which was outlined in the budget.
Thanks Brianna. I know this may not be able to be shared but I had to try to clarify the questions. It truly was not my
fault that I could not be there for the meeting and I would have called in but I was actually in flight.
Have a good week. I need Spring!
