There are various sensors and control points in this system that automatically adjust as needed to keep the pool temperature at its setpoint. The system also sends an alert to the operator if anyvariable become misaligned from its range. Both indoor swimming pools operate with similar systems. The following diagrams show the image that the pool operator is able to monitor from their computer and adjust as needed. The Robert A. Lee indoor pool temperature setpoint is consistently set at83 degrees, measured at both the pool pit and pool water return sensor. This is the warmer of the two indoor pool and is programmed with that in mind. The temperature is ideal for swim lessons, family open swim and events, arthritic and physical therapy users, and water fitness classes. Some lap swimmers also prefer the warmer water. The Mercer Park Aquatic Center pool temperature setpoint is consistently set at81 degrees, measured at the pool water return sensor. This is the cooler of the two indoor pool and is programmed with that in mind. The temperature is ideal for high intensity lap swimming and water fitness classes, competitive swim practices and meets, and some family open swim use. Pool Temperature VersusAmbient Temperature Although the pool temperature remainsconsistent through anautomatically controlled system, the temperature can sometimes ŅĻĻƌ as though it is either warmer or cooler than normal.Thisis due to the significance that ambient temperaturecan haveon perceived water temperature. Theexact same water temperature can feel cooler on a hot day and warmer on a cold day because of thesurroundingair temperature. The larger thedifference between air and water temperature, the more pronounced the perceived temperature change will be when entering and exiting the pool. There are several factors that can influence the ambient temperature. Of course, proper heating and ventilation systems are essential. Indoor pool dehumidification systems help maintain a consistent relative humidity in the spacealong with assisting in controlling dew point, evaporation rates and air temperature. glass windows in a natatorium can also heavily influence the indoor air temperature, particularly on sunnier days. 220 S.
