HomeMy WebLinkAboutPN - Storm Water Discharge Gilbert Street Reconstruction Project - PUBLISH 3-11-25PUBLIC NOTICE OF STORM WATER DISCHARGE The City of Iowa City plans to submit a Notice of Intent to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to be covered under an NPDES General Permit No. 2 - Storm Water Discharge Associated with Industrial Activity for Construction Activities. The storm water discharge will be from construction activity related to the reconstruction of two blocks of North Gilbert Street including street pavement, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, water main, sidewalks, retaining walls, located in NE and NW ¼ sections of Section 10, and the SE and SW ¼ sections of Section 03 of Township 79N and Range 06W of Johnson County, Iowa. Storm water will be discharge from 2-point sources and will be discharged to the following streams: Iowa River and Ralston Creek, which then flows into the Iowa River, and ultimately to the Mississippi River. Comments may be submitted to the Storm Water Coordinator, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, 502 E 9th St, Des Moines IA 50319. The public may review the Notice of Intent from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, at the above address after it has been received by the department.
