NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice of Public Hearing on project manual and estimated cost for the Rundell Street Pump Station Vault Modifications Project in the City of Iowa City, Iowa
To all taxpayers of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, and to other interested persons: Public notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Iowa City, Iowa, will conduct a public hearing on the Project Manual, including the drawings, specifications, contract, and estimated cost for the construction of the
Rundell Street Pump Station Vault Modifications Project in said city at 6 p.m. on the 6th day of May, 2025, said meeting to be held in the Emma J. Harvat Hall in the City Hall, 410
East Washington Street in said city, or if said meeting is cancelled, at the next meeting of the City Council thereafter as posted by the City Clerk.
This project includes rehabilitation of the Rundell Street Pumping Station, which is a stormwater pumping station.
The pumping station is comprised of one wet well that contains two submersible pumps and a separate wet well that contains two axial flow propeller pumps. The two wet
wells are connected via a 54-inch gravity sewer. The submersible pumping station work consists of the replacement of two submersible pumps and appurtenances, check valves, isolation valves, and electrical equipment; replacement of the existing 14-foot by 14-foot concrete top
slab and access doors; preparation and painting of the existing ductile iron piping to remain; and rehabilitation of the existing trash screens anchors and supports. The propeller pumping station work consists of installation of concrete curbing and an equipment pad for the new City provided control panel and replacement of the solenoids in
the oil reservoir enclosure. Additionally, work includes replacement of curb ramps at all four corners of the Rundell Street and Center Avenue intersection, installation of a
service meter and CT cabinet, installation of a new equipment pad to raise the existing transformer, and miscellaneous restoration.
Said Project Manual and estimated cost are now on file in the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall in Iowa City, Iowa, and may be inspected by any interested persons.
Any interested persons may appear at said meeting of the City Council for the purpose of making objections to and
comments concerning said Project Manual or the cost of making said improvement.
This notice is given by order of the City Council of the City of Iowa City, Iowa and as provided by law.
