The Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County will be holding a public
hearing on the “FY2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Program” (TIP) for the Iowa
City Urbanized Area. The TIP is the programming document for all surface transportation
and transit projects that receive state or federal funds, including street & highway, transit,
rail, bicycle, and pedestrian projects in the Iowa City urbanized area. The notice of public
participation activities and time established for public review of and comments on the TIP
will satisfy the transit Section 5307 Program of Projects requirements.
The public hearing will be held on July 9th, 2025 at 4:30 pm in Room 203 B/C at the
Johnson County Health and Human Services Building, 855 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City,
IA 52240.
Information about the proposed TIP can be found at www.MPOJC.org. Interested persons
are encouraged to attend the public hearing or forward written comments by 5:00 pm, July
8th, 2025 to Hannah Neel, Associate Transportation Planner, MPOJC, 410 E. Washington
Street, Iowa City IA 52240; or by email at hneel@iowa-city.org. For more information on
