HomeMy WebLinkAboutPN - AAP Public Meeting Notice - PUBLISH 6-14-25Publication Notice Iowa City Press Citizen June 14, 2025 CORRECTED PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO CITY STEPS 2030 AND APPROVAL OF FY26 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN The City of Iowa City is soliciting public comments on an amendment to City Steps 2030, which includes approval of the City’s FY26 Annual Action Plan (AAP). City Steps 2030 was approved by City Council on January 21, 2025. The purpose of the amendment is to ensure consistency with current regulations, to include the FY26 AAP following the announcement of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) allocations, and to update City Steps 2030 with final allocation amounts. The City anticipates receiving $741,332 of CDBG and $378,560.15 of HOME from HUD for FY26 that will benefit low to moderate income households through a range of activities. The AAP outlines proposed activities, project locations, budgets, and the scope of activities for the fiscal year. A copy of the draft amendment, including the FY26 AAP, is available in accordance with the City’s adopted Citizen Participation Plan online at www.icgov.org/actionplan. Copies are also available from the Neighborhood and Development Services Department located at 410 E Washington Street in Iowa City and may be examined or copied weekdays 8 A.M to 5 P.M. Copies are also available at the Iowa City Public Library located at 123 S Linn Street in Iowa City. The plan will be made available to the public for review electronically or via U.S. Mail. Please submit your request by U.S. Mail to the Neighborhood and Development Services Department, City of Iowa City, 410 East Washington Street, Iowa City, IA 52240, or by email to ekubly@iowa-city.org. City Council will hold a public meeting, accept comments, and consider approval of the amendment and the FY26 AAP on July 8, 2025 (corrected date). The meeting will be held in Emma Harvat Hall located at 410 E Washington Street in Iowa City at 6:00 p.m. For meeting information, visit www.icgov.org/councildocs. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time to meet access needs. A public comment period of more than 30 days to obtain the views of residents, public agencies, and other interested parties began on June 6, 2025. Written comments may be submitted by mail to the Office of the City Clerk at 410 E Washington St, Iowa City, IA 52240 or by email to ekubly@iowa-city.org through July 8, 2025. Following City Council approval, the documents will be submitted to HUD for review and approval.
