HomeMy WebLinkAboutMaintenance Worker I - Streets Accepting applications for: Maintenance Worker I – Streets Streets & Traffic Engineering Division / Public Works Department Job posted until filled Visit www.icgov.org/jobs to apply online Permanent full-time position available Wage: $47,507.20 – $61,172.80 (starting wage contingent upon experience) Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm Job summary Under immediate direction, maintains, constructs and repairs City streets, sidewalks, catch basins and storm drains. Removes snow and leaves from roadways. Minimum Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other High school education or G.E.D. and four to six months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in street construction and maintenance or related. Satisfactory driving record. Valid State of Iowa commercial driver’s license instruction permit upon first day in position. Valid State of Iowa Class A commercial driver’s license with air brake and tank endorsements within 6 months of hire. Meet federal drug testing requirements. Requires a pre-employment drug screen. Must be 18 years of age. Must pass criminal background check. Must live within 25 miles of the corporate limits of Iowa City, Iowa within one year of appointment to the position. Preferred Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other High school education or G.E.D. and seven to twelve months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
