HomeMy WebLinkAboutMass Transit Operator Accepting applications for: Mass Transit Operator Transit Division / Transportation Services Department Application deadline: Wednesday, September 17, 2025 Visit www.icgov.org/jobs to apply online Permanent ¾ time position available Wage: $24.44 – $31.45 per hour (starting wage contingent upon experience) Hours to be determined by shift bid and can include early mornings, evenings and Saturdays Days of operation: Monday through Saturday Job Summary: Under direction, operates City buses to transport the general public safely to and from destinations on assigned route. Collects fares and ridership statistics for municipal and government reports. Minimum Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other: High school education or G.E.D. and seven to twelve months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid State of Iowa Class B commercial driver’s license instruction permit. Valid State of Iowa Class B commercial driver’s license with passenger and air-brake endorsements required upon completion of training period. Meet federal drug testing requirements. A pre-employment drug screen. Must be 18 years of age. Must pass criminal background check. Preferred Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure, Other: High school diploma or G.E.D. and one year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in mass transit operations or related.
