Job Duration: January 2026 – June 2026
Job summary:
Under immediate direction, works with City of Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center’s waste reduction
programs. Assists with education and outreach to residents and businesses. Assists with universal waste
education, outreach and collection for bulbs and batteries. Assists with event planning and management for
Earth Month and recycling events. Responds to questions from public. Performs all other related duties as
assigned. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
General understanding of waste reduction and general environmental issues required. Must be available
evenings and Saturdays for outreach/education. Must have basic computer skills. Requires ability to work
independently and follow through on tasks assigned. Strong organizational and people skills are required.
Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required. Must be 18 years of age. Must pass
criminal background check.
