I hope your summer had started off well. When we initially met about the 2020 Homecoming Parade, our agreement was that we would wait to move forward with anything until we determined whether or not the parade would actually be occurring. This week the student body and staff members received some guidance from the university regarding next fall. Sadly, the parade will no longer be occurring in October as it normally would. As parade directors, we were deeply saddened by this decision, but we know it is better for the community and its health. Since the parade will not be occurring in its regular capacity, we will no longer require any of the city’s services. We thank you for meeting with us earlier this year even amidst the uncertainty. In the future, we look forward to returning to a normal parade. For now, we hope that your summer is filled with sunshine. Have a great day.
