Summary of Minutes
May 4, 2021
Iowa City City Council special formal meeting, 4:05 p.m. via Zoom meeting platform.
Mayor Teague presiding. Council members present: Bergus, Mims, Salih, Taylor,
Teague, Thomas, Weiner. Absent: None. Staff members present: Fruin, Fruehling,
Jennings. Unless otherwise noted, all actions were affirmative and unanimous.
Moved by Taylor, seconded by Thomas, to evaluate the professional competency of
individuals whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered
when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individuals'
reputations and those individuals requested a closed session. (City Attorney). The
Mayor declared the motion carried and adjourned into executive session 4:05 p.m.
Council returned to open session 4:43 p.m.
Moved by Mims, seconded by Weiner, to adjourn special meeting 4:43 p.m.
