Narrative of Offense Committed
On or about the above stated date and time,the Defendant did
go armed with a dangerous weapon, to-wit: , concealed on or about his/her person
AFFIDAVIT
STATE OF IOWA, JOHNSON COUNTY
I,the undersigned,being duly sworn,state that all facts contained in this Complaint and Affidavit,known by me or told to me by other reliable persons form the basis for mybeliefthatthedefendantcommittedthiscrime
State all facts and persons relied upon supporting elements of alleged crime
On April 4,2021 at approximately 0200 hours,there was a large fight outside of Pints Bar,118 S.Clinton St. The defendant was driving a white 2008
Mercury Mariner,IA LIC HBB604, NB in front of Pints and slowed down,then pulled in to the alley just north of Pints and parked the vehicle. The
defendant exited the vehicle and was carrying a handgun with an extended magazine in his right hand. At this point,there was approximately 50 people
standing around in the area. Two people were seen attempting to get the defendant away from the crowd. The defendant eventually made his way to
the front of the parked vehicle where he fired a single round in to the air,which sent the crowd running away from the area. The defendant then fled the
area in the vehicle after the shooting. ICPD officers located a spent 9mm casing in the area where the shot was fired. The shooting was captured on
cell phone and surveillance video in the area. The defendant was also observed on surveillance video approximately 30 minutes after the shooting,
returning to his apartment building while carrying the handgun with an extended magazine.
