FY 2023 Budget goals and Priorities
City Manager Fruin introduced the item and briefly noted the budget timeline and asked Council to
share any changes to goals or specific projects for staff to reconsider. Individual Council members and
USG expressed their views.
Some common themes from the budget discussion included growing affordable housing efforts,
exploring greater contributions to childcare solutions, continued focus on strategic plan objectives and
other areas of focus such as social justice, climate action, mobility, public safety, and healthy
neighborhoods.
Action: Staff will review specific suggestions that were offered and will communicate budgetary
changes needed to individual departments and the budget team.
