HomeMy WebLinkAboutPT information - generalPhysical Fitness Test The Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Council, in recognizing the importance of physical fitness status for job performance, has established this physical test as a pre-employment standard. No person can be se- lected or appointed as a law enforcement officer without first successfully passing all of the elements of this test, as prescribed in 501 IAC 2.1(6), adopted pursuant to Section 80B 11(5), Code of Iowa. A description of the test events and required performance standards can be found at the following link: https://ilea.iowa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Form-PTStandards-2022.pdf Candidates who have been excused from having to take the physical fitness test because they have provid- ed acceptable documentation of having successfully completed the ILEA pre-employment physical test reg- imen administered by another law enforcement agency within 4 months preceding the City’s final test date for an application cycle or because they are ILEA certified will be notified by Human Resources.
