It is, um, a great day, um, here at, uh, I would say City Hall, but here at the Senior Center, we just, uh, had a reception really celebrating, uh, two of the Councilors that will be, um, leaving the City Council. This is their last meeting. Uh, we'll have at the end of our formal, uh, time for Council to share some thoughts and, um, at that time, but wanted to just do a public acknowledgement right now, um, for Susan Mims, who has been our Councilor for 12 years and want to say, thank you for your service. And I think we should give Susan a round of applause for all of the work that she's done for our community. (Applause) And I also want to recognize the lady to my right, which is our Mayor Pro Tem Salih. And we are fully aware that she has been here for four years, and, um, she's been a trooper, um, on so many levels that making sure that there are voices that are elevated, um, that don't sit at this table be heard. And so we want to thank you for your service. (Applause) We're going to start with the clarification of agenda items, and this is for the formal agenda. Weiner: So Mayor, I don't have any clarification items, but I just want to let you know that I, I, that I plan to talk about one of the items on the consent agenda when it comes up. Teague: Great. Okay. Taylor: I also had an agenda, one of the consent agenda items I'd like to talk about. Teague: Yep. And again, um, you can certainly have that discussion now, should you choose, or if you want to wait till the formal meeting when I do the Council, yep. You'll be able to give some remarks then. Yes. Fruin: If, if either Councilor has questions that you're going to ask of staff would be helpful to know that now in case we need to prepare, Weiner: There's no question. Just want to want to like, create some public awareness about one, one of the items. So during Council discussion certainly you'll have that opportunity. Any other items for formal agenda? Bergus: Uh, Mayor I'll be recusing myself from item number 11, just so you're aware, which is the South District SSMID. Teague: Great. So what we'll probably do is, well, that'd be for a later agenda item 11. Okay, great. Thank you. Information Packet Discussion [December 2, December 91 Teague: All right. We're going to go on to our work sessions, um, info packet discussions. So December 2nd? Taylor: I'd like to just talk about IP4, the work session agenda. That's one of the items on there is discuss meeting protocols. And I, I just would hope that we can put this up for discussion sooner than later. Cause it's kinda like one of the last items on that list of work session agenda items. And I think we do need to talk about it. Weiner: Yeah. And I, I, I would, um, I think it would be really good if for the first meeting of the first, for the first work session of the new Council, we could talk about what Councilor Taylor's saying and, and our COVID protocols and the accessibility issues, and sort of have a full range of discussion of the, of the new Council so that we can all decide how we want to approach that going forward. Teague: Yeah, I agree with both of those. Um, and we can certainly have that at our first work session if, um, yeah, we can make that happen. Any other items from December 2nd, December 19th info packet -- Taylor: On IP4 -- oh, I'm sorry -- Teague: (laughter) December 9th -- Taylor: Jumped the gun there, we knew what you meant, December 9th, IP for the airport annual report. I just quickly wanted to, uh, acknowledge the, that, that report and say thank you to Michael Tharp and members of the Airport Commission for, for this thorough report. And I think that most people don't even realize what a great role our airport, uh, plays in our City. And, and I just like to say, keep up the good work, Michael, and the Commission. Council updates on assigned boards, commissions, and committees Teague: Any other items from December 9th. Moving on to Council updates on assigned boards, commissions and committees. I know that some of these don't have meetings over the holi--, like in the holiday month or like December. Um, one of the ones I was on, we just had a gathering and not a meeting. Weiner: Yeah. ECICOG is still working on their, their future visioning. And they had a, they had a meeting this past week. They're going to have another meeting, but the next meeting won't be until February on that. Teague: I am trying to think when, I think we have one more meeting before, at least one more meeting, maybe two before we meet again with the entities. Taylor: Joint entities. Yeah. Teague: I think that's at the end of January. So we'll be able to, um, maybe think about some of those, um, items that we want to add. Um, probably need to start thinking about that at the first or second meeting, but probably the first meeting. So they'll be able to, to have it on their agenda. Anything else? Weiner: [talking with public] I did? We did. Yeah, we just did. Teague: Any other item that we need to discuss at this time? Okay. All right. Well, I think we'll, um, be back at 6:00 PM for formal meeting. Well start relatively soon.
