Job Summary
Under supervision of the Community and Access Services Coordinator, assists the Library Graphics
Assistant and Public Relations Specialist with the design and creation of library publications,
calendars, signs and displays. Helps prepare graphics for library website and other publications.
Helps fill other library art and graphics-related requests from all library departments. Creates routine
content for library digital signs. Takes photos as needed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the design, printing and distribution of library publications.
Helps design and create library displays and posters.
Creates routine content for library digital signs.
Assists in photographing library staff and library events.
Assists with library website design and graphics.
Helps produce and maintain signage for the library.
Implements established policies and procedures regarding the safety and security of patrons and
fellow staff members.
Conducts self in a manner which promotes and supports diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
and community.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The
employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee
frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl,
talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or

move up to 20 pounds. The position must have the ability to apply up to 50 pounds of force to move
or push a book cart. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision,
color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Education, Experience and Certification
Enrollment as an undergraduate in graphic design or related field required. Coursework in graphics or
related field required. Must pass criminal background check
Preferred Education, Experience and Certification
One year of experience in production design and publication production preferred. Experience
designing website and social media graphics preferred. One year working with the public preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of design and layout skills, with proficiency in using Adobe CC in a PC environment.
Knowledge of photographic techniques, skill in operating 35mm SLR, skill in operating 25 mm SLR,
and digital cameras. Skill in operating scanners, laminating equipment, graphics tools and related
equipment. Knowledge of social media platforms such as Snapchat and Tik-Tok and skills in creating
social media graphic content. Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, in writing and in
person. Ability to work independently and in a team environment to deliver Library services. Ability to
consistently deliver excellent customer service.
